Throughout the summer Adult Swim has been sharing singles from Ryan Hemsworth, Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples, and more for their Adult Swim Singles 2016 series. Summer may be officially over but they still have a few more singles to share. The latest release comes from Flying Lotus' rapping alter ego Captain Murphy.
When Flying Lotus revealed earlier this year that he had been working on his own feature film titled Kuso, he admitted that Captain Murphy's music would be included in the film. It initially seemed like we would have to wait until the film's release to finally hear something new from Captain Murphy, but thanks to Adult Swim we don't have to.
Captain Murphy's new single, titled "Crowned," is described perfectly within the first sentence: "This the kind of night that feel perfect for some mischief." The production sounds immediately haunting, which seems fitting for the deep vocals. Halloween may be weeks away, but this track makes it feel like its creeping up on us rather quickly.
