Our No Ceilings concert series has existed on and off for almost five years, and the history runs deep. Artists like 6LACK, Noname, and Dominic Fike all did their first headlining NYC performances with No Ceilings, and we've hosted countless other artists who went on to do great things.

This next No Ceilings is especially exciting because it's the first NYC show for all the artists involved. They're all still relatively new, but we've got a feeling that when we look back on this lineup in a few years, we'll realize what a special moment it really was to catch these four acts on one lineup, especially in such an intimate setting.

Get familiar with each of the acts on the next No Ceilings lineup, and we'll see you on September 26 at Chelsea Music Hall. Tickets will be available here starting Thursday, September 5 at 10 a.m. EST.

Like most young artists today, London singer/songwriter/guitar player Beabadoobee started off  making scrappy, DIY songs in her bedroom. Unlike most of those artists, Bea's music actually caught on. "Coffee" was the first song she ever wrote on a second-hand guitar she got from her dad, and track went on to get millions of plays. Since then, the music has evolved into a fuller rock sound—listen to her latest EP Loveworm here—and she's one of the fastest rising acts outside the world of overnight Hot 100 success stories and viral social media stars.

In the time since we first covered her, Beabadoobee opened for Mac DeMarco in Ireland (and also got tattooed by him), put together a series of Bedroom Sessions for all her new songs, hung out with Khalid and Little Simz, and has been named an artist to watch by too many media outlets to list. Also, she turned 19 and finished school.

Beabadoobee is having a moment, and there's nobody else out there quite like her.

Gabriel Black

Gabriel Black

Not only will No Ceilings be Gabriel Black's first NYC show, it will be his first show ever. Up until August of 2019, we had never even seen Black. He only appeared in social media posts and videos as a cartoon character, but with his "Dead Yet" music video, he finally revealed himself.

When we first spoke to him about doing No Ceilings he wasn't sure if he'd be ready but said he was going to practice. "The only thing stopping me is like if I feel like I'm not up to par, but I am going to push myself," he explained. "It's time, man. It's fucking time... I just hope I'm not a letdown."

The next day, he agreed to do it, and it's hard to imagine him being a letdown. Gabriel Black has a raw, personal approach to music, but his songwriting is so strong that an acoustic indie session can transform into a full-blown anthem with one good hook.

KennyHoopla

KennyHoopla

It's impossible to guess where KennyHoopla is going next. The Cleveland-born, Wisconsin-based artist cites The Drums and Passion Pit as influences, was a competitive breakdancer in high school, and his small catalog so far is appropriately all over the place. His most recent few songs are his best yet, and the evolving sound is starting to lay the foundation for a genre-agnostic artist with ambitions beyond following the latest trends.

"I want to make a new nostalgia and set up a good template for music moving forward," KennyHoopla told us in July. "I want to push the bar of music, which I guess is corny but also not because a lot of people don’t give a fuck and want to stay in their own little world. I want to grow with the world, in real time, and be an artist people can grow with."

Since he released "Lost Cause" in February this year, we've been waiting patiently for more new music, and we're excited to hear both songs old and new at his debut New York show.

Jelani Aryeh

Jelani Aryeh

We discovered San Diego artist Jelani Aryeh through the song "Where We Go" over two years ago, while he was a 17-year-old still in high school. His clearly defined voice, wise-beyond-his-years lyricism, and genre-mixing approach to making modern pop music stood out straight away, and his growth since 2017's Suburban Destinesia project has been impressive to watch.

One-off singles have kept us engaged, but as we lead up to the No Ceilings show, there is a lot of new music and content on the way. The smooth "The Garden" came out last week, Jelani promised that a music video for "Where We Go" will be out this Thursday, and it feels like momentum is picking up for the teenage creative. Expect lots more in the coming months, and catch a star on the rise when Jelani opens at No Ceilings in New York.
