Kanye West is know for working on his albums until the very last minute. Rick Rubin says Kanye recorded most of Yeezus' vocals in the final two days before the album was due, and it sounds like the recording process for Ye went down in a similar fashion. He says he restarted the project after his controversial comments about slavery on TMZ, which took place exactly one month before the album dropped.

Sitting down with BigBoyTV at his listening party in Wyoming on Thursday night, he was asked why the final album sounded different from early versions that some members of the press had heard previously. "I just completely did a completely new album," Kanye answered. "With what the universe was giving me, I wanted something that matched that energy."

"I completely redid the album after TMZ," Kanye clarified. "We just sat there and really honed in on the words."

Kanye explained that the original version of the album was more political, but he realized certain lines would be turned into headlines in the wake of his controversial comments. "We know now it's all headlines and every bar can be used," he said. "There were even bars that we had about that. I took them off the album. It was just too sensitive. It was about that topic. I was like, 'Yo, I'm going to just chill right now."

In another interview with Power 106 Los Angeles, Kanye hints that there might be more music coming after the five announced albums drop. After listing Pusha T's album, his solo album, the Kid Cudi project, the Nas album, and Teyana Taylor's record, Kanye says, "We might got some more in the stash. We been choppin'."
