Maxo Kream has been a fixture on SoundCloud for years, but he's taking the next step in his career after building an impressive mixtape résumé with the release of his long-awaited debut album.

The Texas rapper, who has previously collaborated with Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, and $uicideboy$, excels on Punken, a wide-ranging project that allows him to show off his full arsenal of talents. The project includes the airy hit "Grannies," as well as the minimalist trap anthem "BUSSDOWN."

Kream is a versatile MC who can switch between rapid fire flows and a slower, more menacing cadence that utilizes his powerful baritone. Melodic guests like Trippie Redd and 03 Greedo are perfect foils for him, and their collaborations are highlights on Punken.

The record also features a murderer's row behind the boards, including Teddy Walton, who produced GoldLink's "Crew," Sonny Digital, and Honorable C.N.O.T.E.

At 27 years old, Kream has experience and a polished skill est, but is also willing to take risks and experiment with delivery outside the realm of many Houston MCs while still staying true to his southern roots. He's both an everyman rapper and an eccentric, meaning that there's something for everyone on Punken.
