Jorja Smith's rise has been rapid and well deserved. When we premiered her powerful debut song "Blue Lights" in 2016, it was clear the young artist had a special talent, and she hasn't put a foot wrong with her subsequent singles, EP, and collaborations.

2016 debut EP Project 11 showed her mastery of slow-paced ballads and recent single "On My Mind" proves she's at home on uptempo dance tracks too. Her biggest cosign so far, however, came from Drake, who featured her on More Life and brought her out to perform in London as part of his Boy Meets World Tour.

Jorja is starting 2018 strong with a new song called "Let Me Down," featuring fellow British star, rapper Stormzy. It's slow paced and emotional, and Jorja explains that it's "about meaning very little to someone; but being okay with that, even though it hurts." She adds:

"A dream of mine is to write a Bond theme tune. When I am writing music I sometimes envision a video playing along side. 'Let Me Down' sounded quite Bond-y and when I was listening to it I imagined it being played in a Bond film but during a scene when James Bond has gone down into an underground, dimly lit, secret bar and he approaches the Bond girl who is sitting at the bar looking very guilty because she's done something bad and let him down."

The song was debuted on Beats 1 today, and you can listen to Jorja Smith's conversation with Zane Lowe here. Listen to "Let Me Down" now and check out Jorja's upcoming US tour dates below.
