“We think you’ll enjoy looking up from your gadgets for a little while and experience music and our shared love of it IN PERSON.”

Jack White has had enough. Fed up with staring at a sea of blue screens during his concerts, the guitar legend and Third Man Records founder is cutting his crowds off. He joins fellow entertainers Dave Chappelle, Alicia Keys, and Adele in banning phones from his concert, and will also be using the dreaded Yondr pouch to keep phones locked.

“No photos, video or audio recording devices allowed,” White's statement reads. “We think you’ll enjoy looking up from your gadgets for a little while and experience music and our shared love of it IN PERSON.” The upcoming 40-date tour will support the artist's Boarding House Reach album, and runs from April to August. It will be, in the statements words, a "100% human experience."

Official photos of the concerts will be available online afterwards, and there will be a Yondr Phone Zone in venue lobbies for emergencies and memes. This has been a pet peeve of White's for some time, and the technology to make it happen is finally available—here he is talking with Conan about banning phones in 2014.
