Ro Ransom got a lot of mileage out of sparse releases over the past few years, continually teasing his long-awaited Momentum mixtape. Now, after two years of working on it, Momentum is here, and it's Ro's strongest release to date. With some truly inspired production and features from Jazz Cartier and Kensei Abbot, Momentum sits at a concise length and feels more focused than most rap releases this long in the making could dream of.

Over email, Ro said of the mixtape, “Mystery Boy is very happy to finally have this project out. It's a labor of love, two years to be exact. This sound is me at my core. I love you all. Mystery Boy has spoken." Blending more bombastic rap with some poppier, glossy songwriting, it's one of the more unique releases we've heard this year. While around half of the songs have been available for a while, we're not exactly complaining because they're just as great as they were when they first released, "Doppelgänger" in particular. It's clear Ro took his time with this to make sure it's exactly what he wanted it to be.

Listen to Momentum below, and check out our video with Ro from earlier this year below that.
