In most cases, when it’s your own birthday, you’re not expected to be the one doing the gift-giving. However, New Jersey’s Angelo Mota seems to be feeling rather generous on his special day. Instead of asking for presents (though, I'm sure he'd still gladly accept), Mota gifts us with a brand new track titled “Parade.”

There are countless things to be frustrated about on a daily basis, but every once in a while it's important to take a step back and just be thankful for the good things in your life right now. "Parade" embodies that feeling and Mota makes that lesson clear as he uses the catchy hook to tell listeners to stop being so salty 24/7 and just kick back for a minute.

Even with a subtle bounce injected into the rhythm, The Mr. Arcade production instantly sets a relaxed tone perfect for this reflective track. "In the days leading up to my 22nd birthday, I spent a lot of time reflecting on the experiences of my 21st year in its entirety and actually rediscovered a song I made exactly a year ago today, which was heavily influenced by my anxieties," Mota explains about his new single. "As I look back now, the whole year summed up to me not really going out or partying, but at that time I really needed to write about the pressures of ignoring that building anxiety in my gut that came with all of it, as well as the effects it might’ve had on my friendships in both directions.”
