I've always felt a sense of magic when listening to Conner Youngblood's music. Since he first emerged back in early 2011 with songs like "A Summer Song," a trip to his SoundCloud page has been a go-to solution when I'm looking for a spark on a dull day. It's hard to explain without sounding totally corny, but his calm energy and sense of wonder has a way of taking you to a different place if you let it.
Earlier this year, a singer named Nylo heard Conner's music wafting out of a nearby room in a Los Angeles office and apparently felt the same thing. They started writing together shortly after meeting and released a song called "Everyday" four months ago. The collaboration was so enjoyable that they continued working together and shared another song today called "Higher."
The four minute track beautifully mixes Conner's buoyant, airy sounds with light, calming vocals from Nylo. Magic.
