Toro Y Moi has announced a new studio album, following on from 2015's What For? and Samantha. Announcing the new album, which is titled Boo Boo, Toro says that the album sees him drawing from a disparate set of influences. Naming Frank Ocean, Oneothrix Point Never, and Travis Scott among others, citing their use of space in particular. " I recognized that the common thread between these artists was their attention to a feeling of space, or lack thereof," he said in a press release.

"I decided that I wanted to make a Pop record with these ideas in mind," he continued. "During this time of personal turmoil, I turned to music as a form of therapy, and it helped me cope with the pain that I was feeling. I’d listen to the same ambient song over and over again, trying to insulate myself from reality. I fell in love with space again. By the time I felt ready to begin working on a new record, I knew that this idea of space within music would be something that propelled my new work forward."

To accompany the announcement of the album, which arrives July 7 via Carpark Records, he's shared  the gorgeous new single "Girl Like You." Watch the video accompaniment to the song above.
