The identity of artist Banksy has remained a mystery for quite a while, with many trying to establish who's behind the works for a long time. Back in 2016, it was reported that evidence pointed to Massive Attack's Robert Del Naja being Banksy, but during the same period it was also speculated that Banksy was actually multiple people. Whether Banksy is one person or many remains to be seen, but the legendary Goldie may have left a clue regarding Banksy's identity during a recent interview.

Seemingly confirming or further muddying, the rumors that surfaced last year, Goldie referred to Banksy as "Robert" on Scroobius Pip's podcast Distraction Pieces. Speaking on the commodification of graffiti art and culture, Goldie said, "Give me a bubble letter and put it on a t-shirt and write Banksy on it and we're sorted. We can sell it now... No disrespect to Robert, I think he is a brilliant artist. I think he has flipped the world of art over."

Robert Del Naja hasn't commented on the rumors ever since they surfaced, but with Goldie's recent slip-up, many are jumping to the conclusion that Del Naja is indeed behind Banksy to some degree. Whether he's the leader of a collective or committee that produces Banksy's works isn't clear, but Goldie seemingly knows at least one Robert involved with Banksy's work. Hey, there's been crazier conspiracy theories.
