From the opening moments alone, it's evident that Minnesota's Psymun is on a whole new level with his latest EP, Rainbow Party. His debut project on Ghostly International, Rainbow Party packs a whole lot of content into three tracks. "Glitch Tundra," the odyssey-like opening track, features frequent collaborator Chester Watson kicking things off. As the only vocal feature on the EP, Psymun gives Chester his moment to shine, before pushing his production expertise to new extremes.

The track extends itself out until the sample twists and turns, resulting in perhaps Psymun's most exhilarating solo track to date. "I Need My Boy" is easily the noisiest thing to come from him under the Psymun name, drawing from his former punk project Dogshit Kid. It's definitely more experimental than anything he's put out before, but that's also what makes it so exciting. Even though it's filled with electronic sounds, the whole EP, "Confetti" in particular, has a warm and organic feel.
