Mac DeMarco's new album This Old Dog is due out next Friday, May 5. Before we finally get a chance to hear this album in full, DeMarco returns today with another preview of what he can expect to hear as he share yet another track.
Earlier this month, DeMarco shared "On The Level"—a hazy single that feels both hypnotizing and seductive. This track differed quite a bit from the tracks he shared in January titled "My Old Man" and "This Old Dog," which veered down the lane of folk love songs.
Today's release, "One More Love Song" is simply beautiful. The production creates a relaxing atmosphere with instrumentation that sounds light and easy-going. Mac DeMarco has always had a strong ability for creating songs that seem like the soundtrack for a perfect summer afternoon, and that fact has not changed.
Everything we've heard from This Old Dog so far has been dreamy, and almost carefree. Even as the tempo of "One More Love Song" seems to move in slow-motion, it still manages to work as a great pick-me-up.
