When you’re a young, 20-something it seems like we always tend to meet the most interesting people at a party that it’s too loud to even attempt holding a conversation. Many times, the most unfortunate detail is the fact that this rowdy party might be the only chance you cross paths with this special someone.

For his smooth new single, “In The Moment,” Oakland singer and producer 1-O.A.K. admits he was inspired by a similar setting. “I prefer kickbacks to real lit parties; it suits my personality,” he explains. “But there’s this one girl I was attracted to who I would only see at loud turnt up functions. I just thought about what it would be like if we got to talk without all of the distractions.”

Picking up where his previous single “Lost & Found” left off, 1-O.A.K. makes the most of a situation to make sure he doesn’t miss out on the possible girl of his dreams that he’s been searching for. “In The Moment” is a sweet love note taken from Riding in Cars with Girls—his upcoming project which he reveals uses a break up as its start—that perfectly depicts the determination to stay focused on who’s in front of you, no matter the amount of surrounding distractions.
