British producer Cadenza keeps dropping new music. Earlier this month his raw dancehall/hip-hop EP Hijack came out, and that followed a pack of remixes and mash-ups from February.
Today, we're premiering a very special collaboration between Cadenza and Allan Kingdom, a track called "Vibes" which will also feature on Kingdom's upcoming album, LINES, out April 7. We debuted a couple of new Allan Kingdom tracks during our Beats 1 takeover in January, but trust us, the entire album is a special—a journey through tempos, moods, and sounds.
For "Vibes," Cadenza provides a smooth backdrop for Allan's melodic delivery, and the British producer breaks down how the track came together. "DJ Semtex connected me with Allan when he came to London for a show," Cadenza explains. "He came to my studio and we listened to beats for like three hours and just talked. We decided we wanted to capture the excitement of what we had going so extended his trip. We recorded 'Vibes on the second night I think and we both knew we had something.”
Allan Kingdom adds, "When I made the song it was my first time meeting Cadenza and experiencing the energy and nightlife out in London on my own. I hope everyone feels the same vibes I do when we recorded it."
