Last summer, London-based singer Jamie Isaac released his debut album Couch Baby. Several months later, the singer returns with new renditions of tracks taken from his album for a release titled Couch Baby (Revisited). Ahead of the project’s March 17 release, Jamie Isaac shares a preview of what to expect.
The standout single “Beauty” has been transformed with the help of Allan Kingdom and Sporting Life (of Ratking). The original track is a down-tempo, hazy record that feels instantly mesmerizing. For this updated version, Sporting Life gives it a subtle bounce to nod along to. This new remix opens up with vocals from Allan Kingdom that perfectly matches the energy of Sporting Life’s additional production and balances out Isaac’s tranquil mood.
Allan explained that he first became familiar with Jamie Isaac when he released his 'Find the Words' video last year. “It’s dope to collaborate with different artists and producers like Sporting Life,” says Allan. “Shout out to Jamie for including me on the song. I’m looking forward to being part of the new project.”
Throughout their careers, Jamie Isaac, Allan Kingdom, and Sporting Life have each proved how versatile their styles can be. Hearing these artists together on one track is initially unexpected but ultimately seems like something that was bound to happen. “Allan was my first choice,” Isaac explains. “He has brought a serious vibe to this Sporting Life remix, it bangs." As a result, the originally somber song gets a refreshing transformation into a menacing soundtrack for a late-night cruise.
