"Growing up down south, cookouts were a huge part of my childhood," promising young Florida rapper Kaiydo tells us. "Some of my favorite memories come from them. I remember seeing all these kids wearing oversized jerseys, singing along to Nelly and Lil' Bow Wow."

Looking to put a strong finishing cap on his series of Colors & Sounds demos, Kaiydo looked back on those times as inspiration for his bouncy new song, "Jumpin." He says, "That's the first time I can remember really being influenced by hip-hop, and that's the vibe I was going for."

Kicking off 2017 on the right foot, the end of his successful demo series (which landed him a spot on our Best New Artists of 2016 list) gives Kaiydo a chance to look back.

"Last year was one of the craziest years of my life and we only put out a demo, so to see this much love already is amazing," he says. "But we not stopping here."

Giving some insight on his next moves, Kaiydo tells us, "My debut mixtape Kartoons is on the way."

We can't wait. Details on this project will be coming soon. In the meantime, listen to a stream of "Jumpin" below.
