Fictional Gorillaz Member Noodle Shares Playlist of "Kick-Ass Women"

The mix features music from the likes of Grimes, Abra, Kali Uchis, Lully, Empress Of, and more.

Damon Albarn's virtual band Gorillaz has been gearing up to release a new album for a while now, and the band has been teasing the next release from the group through some pretty inventive means. Back in November 2016, one of the group's fictional members Noodle popped up on OkCupid, prompting many to believe that the album would be arriving in December. Now with that date past, Noodle has posted on Instagram again to offer yet more hope for the upcoming album.

Sharing a playlist via SoundCloud, Noodle posted on Instagram, "In search of new sounds and new inspiration, I found these kick-ass women who in their own individual ways are true pioneers in the writing, production and creation of MUSIC." The post continues, reading, "They have inspired me, and I hope they inspire you too." Unfortunately the mix doesn't include any new music from Gorillaz, but it does feature music from the likes of Grimes, Abra, Kali Uchis, Lully, Empress Of, and more.

If the mix is any indication of what inspired the new album, then the next Gorillaz project could very well be the most diverse album from the band yet. Here's hoping we don't have to wait too long to hear it. Listen to the mix below.
