Earlier this week, gospel singer Kim Burrell made headlines for giving an anti-gay sermon that went viral. Burrell is currently featured on the Hidden Figures soundtrack alongside Pharrell and was scheduled to perform on Ellen, but the viral video has led to immediate backlash, including Burrell getting dropped from the live performance.

Both Pharrell and Hidden Figures star Janelle Monáe have condemned Burrell, and now, Frank Ocean's mother Katonya Breaux has spoken up about the gospel singer's comments, as Burrell also appears on "Godspeed" on Blonde.

"Me: Son, can we crop Kim Burrell's voice out of your song?" Breaux tweeted in response to the news. "I mean damn," she goes on in another tweet, "Hypocrisy and the inciting of hate pisses me off. Opportunistic &?%#€!!."

In Kim Burrell's viral sermon, she describes homosexuality as "a sin against the nature of God," calling it "perverted." She's since acknowledged the video, but also said that she makes "no excuses or apologies" for it. Frank Ocean had openly discussed his sexuality in an open letter back in 2012.

Take a look at Katonya Breaux's tweets below.
