Listen to Young L's 'The Boo Ghost' Project

The Pack's Young L comes with a fresh sound for 2016 on his latest release.

After the dissolution of The Pack, the group's members all split off to do their own things, with Lil B gaining perhaps the most attention thanks to his ridiculous work ethic. Young L, the main producer behind The Pack, kept things just as interesting as Lil B, however, releasing solid projects throughout the years without truly letting go of his hyphy roots. He's definitely a lot more low-key than The Based God, but his music is just as worthy of your time.

With his latest project, The Boo Ghost, L is taking full control of his output. Fully produced, written, and mixed by himself, The Boo Ghost sees Young L updating the hyphy blueprint for 2016. Despite his incessant creativity, things haven't always been easy for L since The Pack hit it big with "Vans." Talking to us over email, he revealed that he was diagnosed with manic depression. "Everything after that just seemed to get more and more difficult," he told us.

"Last time I checked in with a doc they said I was skitzo-effective, which is basically like Bipolar Disorder plus a bunch of extra shit to deal with. Anyways, the way I deal with my problems is by smoking weed and making music. With this project I took it upon myself to write it, not be lazy with my lyrics. The production is focused on heavy synths and strong 808s. I only have one sample on this project (the intro) and the rest is all me. I stayed in my own lane and reinvented myself again like I always do, it's a part of my working process."
