Late last month, Yasiin Bey (fka Mos Def) announced that he would be releasing a new album alongside his friend and producer Ferrari Sheppard. Together, the duo go by the name Dec. 99th and appropriately titled the album December 99th. The album was originally slated to be released exclusively through Tidal on December 9, just days before Bey's birthday. However, due to complications on both ends, the album was delayed.
Fortunately, December 99th is officially here and the timing feels perfect considering Bey and Sheppard are set to perform two shows at the famous Apollo Theater in Harlem tonight and tomorrow. For those with a Tidal subscription, the new album is available to be streamed in full. For everyone else without a subscription however, only the album's second track "Blade in the Pocket" is available in full.
