2016 has been a great year for both Mick Jenkins and Kaytranada, with both artists releasing critically acclaimed debut albums this year.
Jenkins and Kaytranada have worked together on a number of different projects, including the Chicago rapper's last two releases, Wave[s]and The Healing Component. The Canadian producer was responsible for some of the stand-out tracks from those projects and also crafted one of the best albums of the year with 99%.
Now the two artists have linked up again on "Aurora Borealis," a track taken from the Countdown2Midnight compilation tape, which is being put together by 119 productions. The tape also features other up-and-coming Chicago talent including Saba, Noname and Raven Lynae.
