During his live performances, Kendrick Lamar is known to pull crowd members on the stage to rap with him. Sometimes the fans are surprisingly good, but it's entertaining either way.

Last night in New York City, things played out a little differently than usual, and Kendrick ended up picking out one of the most talented rappers in New York to join him onstage. "My guy, come up here," Kendrick said, pointing out 25-year-old Bronx native Kemba, who happened to be in the audience that night. If you don't know Kemba, you should. He's a rapper formerly known as YC The Cynic, a No Ceilings alumnus, and an excellent lyricist fresh off the release of his powerful album Negus.

"I found out about the show an hour before it happened," Kemba tells us. "I would've never guessed I'd end up on stage. I didn't even want to at first! But that was like a dream. I haven't been to sleep since."

Afterwards, even Kendrick was impressed. "He was kicking some real motherfuckin' shit... Kemba, remember that motherfuckin' name. Kemba."
