Last month Apple Music shared the first trailer for their forthcoming documentary titled 808. The film—which features appearances from Questlove, Rick Rubin, Pharrell, Afrika Bambaataa, and more—focuses on the transitional period in hip-hop after the introduction of the TR808 drum machine. With the documentary's December 9 release date swiftly approaching, Kaytranada shared his remix of Afrika Bambaataa and the Soulsonic Force’s classic single "Planet Rock."

Fans of Kaytranada know very well that he's always had an incredible ability to remix a track and make it his own while still managing to keep the classic key elements intact. In October Kaytranada shared his edits of Chance The Rapper's "All Night" and Solange's "Cranes in the Sky."

Now he returns with a very bold move to remix one of the most influential songs in hip-hop history. Although the single already sounded futuristic when it first dropped in 1986, Kaytranada put a new spin on the timeless track to let it carry on for another 30 years to come.
