Drake’s "One Dance" is the First Song to Hit One Billion Streams on Spotify

2016 has been amazing for Drake (but garbage for everyone else).

Drake has reached yet another milestone. According to Billboard"One Dance" is the first song on Spotify to ever reach one billion streams.

Only two months ago, it was announced that "One Dance" had surpassed Major Lazer's "Lean On" for Spotify's most streamed songs ever, having amassed 880 million streams since its release in April. This means within that short time period, "One Dance" had racked up another 120 million streams.

Drake has also earned the title of Spotify's most streamed artist of the year with 4.7 billion streams, more than doubling his numbers from last year thanks to Views. The Canadian's fourth album, which has gone four times platinum, is also the streaming service's most streamed album of the year and is Spotify's most streamed artist ever

Congratulations, Drake. Hopefully 2017 will be an even better year for you (but also everyone else) between the eight Grammy nominations (Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Best Rap Song, Best Rap Album, Best R&B Song) and his fifth album, More Lifedue at the beginning of the year.
