There's a lot of new talent bubbling up in New York City hip-hop right now, but A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie has managed to cut through all the noise and emerge as one of the city's rising stars. The 20-year-old Bronx-born rapper named Artist Dubose is ready for it, too. When we interviewed him in July he made that much clear: “This is all I’ve ever wanted,” he told us. "What I got going on right now, it can’t get any better than this."

A Boogie has opened up for Drake at Madison Square Garden, achieved regular radio play, and managed to strike a balance between classic New York character and a fresh, youthful style. We met up with the young artist in his Highbridge neighborhood in the Bronx to talk about his goals, his motivation, and how it all got started.
