Wisconsin rapper Trapo has been on our radar for the past year and in the short time we've become familiar with him, his talent has continued to grow right in front of our eyes. Last November, the young rapper made an impressive debut with his Black Beverly Hills EP. He continued the momentum with the release of his SHE EP this past spring. Now he returns to close out the year with the release of his debut album, Shade Trees.
This summer—after performing in New York City for the first time at our No Ceilings show—Trapo shared "Beg," the first single from his debut album. The lighthearted single served as a change of pace for Trapo, but his melodic tone proved just how versatile it can be. Shade Trees features 16 tracks—with just two appearances from Saba and Skizzy Mars—that further prove this range in sound and growth as an artist.
To support the release of his debut album, Trapo will be heading out on a mini tour with dates in New York, Chicago, and his hometown of Madison, Wisconsin. He is also celebrating the day with a 24-hour release day sale on Shade Tree hats—grab one here while you can.
