The xx share their gorgeous Alasdair McLellan-directed video for "On Hold."

The xx recently returned with "On Hold" and the announcement of a new album due early next year, and now they've provided a cinematic video perfectly suiting of the song. Directed by Alasdair McLellan and filmed in Marfa, Texas, the video offers a portrait of youth complete with gorgeous cinematography. Having recorded some of the album in Marfa, Texas, The xx said of the video in a statement, "It was filmed in Marfa, Texas, a very special place to us."

"We have a lot of love and respect for the people of the USA, having played hundreds of shows acorss the country over the past years," the statement continues. "We hope this video reflects just some of the warmth and acceptance we have encountered there." There's definitely a warm feeling to be found in the video, with a textural look to the footage. Suiting the welcoming and generally lovely track, The xx couldn't have produced a better video to match the song.

Watch the video for "On Hold" above, and check out the limited 7" vinyl the band announced to accompany the video here. The band's third studio album, I See You, is due for release January 13.
