In a new cover story for Fader, rising Atlanta rapper 21 Savage reveals that a Savage Mode 2 may be coming. The first Savage Mode project, a collaboration between 21 and producer Metro Boomin, came out in July, and they've reportedly got 20 to 30 more songs together, some of which may be released as a follow-up.

In the story, Metro Boomin explains that he met 21 Savage through a mutual friend, before 21 had even started releasing music. One day, 21 told Metro that he was starting to rap. “It’s crazy, people try that with me every day,” Metro explains. “But—I can’t even tell you all the way what it was—sometimes something just tells you to do shit.”

“I like to do a lot of post-production, a lot of crazy shit,” Metro says. “But [Savage] just wanted those motherfuckers clean. The simple, moody, dark beats—that created the proper bed. His voice just different.”
