Jamie Foxx will be at the helm for a new limited biopic series about the life of Marvin GayeThe Hollywood Reporter reports. The actor will serve as the new series' executive producer alongside Passe Jones Entertainment's Suzanne de Passe and Madison Jones.

"I've been a huge fan my whole life. His brilliance in music is unparalleled," Foxx said in a statement. "Marvin Gaye's story has always fascinated me."

de Passe, who's executive produced a number of Motown television specials, revealed that she and Jones are currently in talks with Sony/ATV to determine which songs by Marvin Gaye will be used for the limited series.

No dates have been set yet, but according to The Hollywood Reporterthe team will be shopping it to linear and digital outlets.
