Travis Scott has been on fire. His latest album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight has received critical acclaim and debuted at No. 1, his live shows have been lauded as some of the most entertaining, and he recently released an enormous collection of new merch. To suggest that his success should be credited to the idea that Travis Scott is a natural talent may read as a hyperbolic statement, but this recently surfaced clip of him performing in 2013 reinforces exactly that.
Earlier today, a user on Reddit's r/hiphopheads posted the above video of a young Travis Scott and Casey Veggies putting on an energetic performance of their 2012 single "Up" for MTV's Jams Live Weekend 2013. With a very different looking Travis giving it his all, the crowd responds accordingly with an equal bout of enthusiasm for the two rappers.
The clip is definitely a cool reminder of how far Travis Scott has come, having released another mixtape and two studio albums, as well as working with some of the biggest rappers in the game since then.
