Watch Smino Debut a New, Sango Produced Track in Chicago

Smino was accompanied by a full band.

Last night in Chicago, rising emcee Smino premiered a new, Sango-produced track live at Chicago's Thalia Hall as part of Red Bull Sound Select Presents: A Quest for Love Tour with Mick Jenkins. Smino performed with long-time collaborator Monte Booker, and was accompanied by a full band.

After tonight's final tour stop in Minneapolis, Smino has a considerable wave of hype to ride. Last year he debuted with two critically lauded EPs, S!Ck S!Ck and Blkjuptr, that demonstrate both his lyrical prowess alongside his ability to line up with a groove. Making the night all the more special was the fact that both Jenkins and Smino got their start in Chicago, and the line for entry to this hometown show wrapped around the block.

Smino and Booker also created the Zero Fatigue crew—a collective of artists, singers and rappers who are pressing forward and breaking new territory while still embracing a melodic approach. The two are currently working on Smino's debut album.
