M.I.A.'s 'A.I.M.'

After attributing the long-delayed release of last month's AIM to the trouble her label had promoting the album stateside, M.I.A's U.S. visa has finally been approved.

After first sharing the development on Instagram, a representative of M.I.A.'s confirmed the news to Pitchfork. This begins a new chapter in a long saga of label woes for the London-born artist, who took to Periscope over the summer to let her fans know that she was contacting immigration and human rights lawyers to help push the approval process through.

While AIM track "Visa" never mentions her recent struggles to get through the process, it offers several references to M.I.A.'s prior albums that reinforce her status a globe-hopping, border-crossing rebel. No word yet on an upcoming U.S. tour, but seeing as how this will assuage some of her label Interscope's problems with promoting AIM stateside, there ought to be more news soon.
