Preview President Obama & Macklemore's Discussion on the Opioid Crisis

'Prescription For Change: Ending America’s Opioid Crisis' airs tomorrow evening on MTV.

Earlier this year, President Barack Obama was joined by Macklemore for his weekly address to discuss America's opioid crisis. In the clip, the two discussed why this problem shouldn't be taken lightly, and how those suffering from addiction can seek help.

During his visit, Macklemore and President Obama were also being filmed for MTV's upcoming hour-long documentary of the same topic, Prescription For Change: Ending America’s Opioid Crisis. Macklemore, who also serves as the documentary's executive producer, and President Obama discuss the epidemic in the film, with the former sharing his personal experiences in dealing with prescription drug addiction.

"The good news is that awareness is starting to rise [...] Part of what is starting to change is the opioids crisis is getting into communities that are suburban, that are relatively well to do, rural communities, white communities," President Obama tells Macklemore in a preview clip of Prescription For Change. "People’s kids who are being affected are folks who have a voice and they’re starting to recognize that generally how we’ve dealt with the reduction of addiction and drugs has often times been counterproductive and that we need to shift a lot more resources into treatment."

Prescription For Change: Ending America’s Opioid Crisis will air tomorrow evening, Tuesday, October 10 at 9pm EST on MTV. Watch a preview the documentary above.
