Kendrick Lamar and Rick Rubin met for the first time and after one conversation, they were already headed to the studio.

Kendrick Lamar is featured on the cover of the latest issue of GQ Style and sat down with legendary music producer Rick Rubin for an interview at his Shangri-La home studios in Malibu. The two had never met prior to this interview but built up so much chemistry that they decided to head inside and record new music after their 50-minute conversation.

Kendrick spoke on a variety of different topics, including his meditation habits, Eminem, and how "Alright" has become our generation's protest song. He also dropped some info on how his next album is coming along, saying, "I have ideas and I have a certain approach. But I wanna see what it manifests. I wanna put all the paint on the wall and see where that goes. Maybe you can help me with that."
