Maybe he wants to work on the follow-up to '2014 Forest Hills Drive.'

The Meadows Music & Arts Festival is going on right now, and J. Cole's performance last night was sadly bittersweet. It was J. Cole, so it was probably a great show, but he also made it clear that it would be his last one for the foreseeable future.

"This is my last show for a very long time," he said on stage. He didn't give much explanation as to why that's the case, but there are a few potential reasons. Maybe he wants to work on the follow-up to 2014 Forest Hills Drive (or that Kendrick Lamar joint project that was teased about a year ago). Perhaps he's looking to take a break from music altogether for a little bit and spend time with his family.

Whatever the case, it looks like his performance this weekend is all we'll get of Cole on stage for a while, but at least he dropped a live album before he left.

Watch Cole make the announcement himself below.
