Former Rage Against the Machine frontman Zack de la Rocha has been rumored to be working on a solo project for over a decade, with reports of him enlisting the likes of DJ Shadow, El-P, and Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails to assist with his debut solo record. Now, it would seem that he's finally ready to start his career as a bonafide solo artist, teaming up with previous collaborator El-P for his debut solo single, "Digging for Windows."

After working with El-P on 2014's Run the Jewels 2, delivering an excellent verse at the end of album highlight "Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck)," Zack has enlisted El to provide his idiosyncratic production to "Digging for Windows." While it's unclear if this is a relatively new recording or part of the pair's previous efforts to record material, it's evident that these two make for a brilliant pairing, with Zack suiting El's production remarkably well.

Earlier this year, El-P posted a photo of himself in the studio with de la Rocha, Killer Mike, and Nas, hinting at the arrival of "Digging for Windows." His former Rage bandmate, Brad Wilk, also mentioned that Rocha was working on his long-awaited solo record earlier this year. Here's hoping "Digging for Windows" is part of a larger project.
