Back in July, Chuck Inglish tweeted, "I called Mikey and realized nothing would feel better than us being the originators again. We really felt like we hadn’t really finished what we started. They took our styles and ran off. We coming back for it all." And just like that, The Cool Kids reunion was in motion. Today, the duo has formally returned by releasing "Running Man," their first new song in five years.

The track, which features Houston rapper Maxo Kream, is classic The Cool Kids with a dark edge, and Kream even makes a reference to "Black Mags" from the duo's Bake Sale EP, rapping, "Chuck and Mike, they got them black mags / I ride around with black mags!"

The duo's last release together was 2011's When Fish Ride Bicycles, and while the reunion seems to have a ton of momentum, it's not yet clear when its follow-up will turn up. Inglish previously described the new material he and Sir Michael Rocks have been working on as intense: "I'm not going to lie to you: It's probably some of the hardest shit we've ever done. It's scary, low-key. It shows you how much we probably missed working with each other. But we know each other's ways now."
