After a video of Peruvian singer Ramiro Saavedra performing Nirvana's hit "Come As You Are" surfaced online, conspiracy theorists came out in full force. They claimed that Kurt faked his death in 1994 and has been living under this new identity in Peru, even though Remiro is right-handed and doesn't really look like Kurt.

The conspiracy theory was ridiculous, but it spread so incessantly that Nirvana decided to respond. The band issued a sarcastic response on the official Nirvana Facebook page, with a link to the Daily Mail article covering the news. "It is true, Kurt is alive," the note reads. "He needed time to learn to play the guitar with his right hand. Finding left-handed guitars is not easy. We are so happy to have him back and forgive him for all of the sadness that we have held so deeply in our hearts."
