BBC Radio 1 frequently get various musicians to come into their studio and record covers of their choosing, and on their latest segment they had a pretty surprising choice from Justin Bieber. Performing a six-song set live from Los Angeles, he performed three of his own songs as well as his Major Lazer collaboration "Cold Water," before delivering a cover of Tupac's "Thugz Mansion" and Tracy Chapman's "Fast Car."
While "Fast Car" is a relatively safe choice, and Bieber certainly does a good job with it, his choice to cover "Thugz Mansion" will surely garner a lot of attention. Backed by an acoustic guitar, Bieber raps and sings the track in a subdued manner. Although this might seem strange at first, in reality, this is nothing new for Bieber. He previously covered "Thugz Mansion" before in 2011 a little bit.
