Brooklyn duo Curly Savv & Dah Dah have been steadily gaining traction, and it feels like a big breaking point could happen any minute. Their new 1st Quarter mixtape starts with a 50 Cent co-sign, and goes on to show off the young rappers' skills: high energy, relentless deliveries, and an aggressive but palatable approach to rapping.
"New York artists are shortchanged these days because people just think it's dead musically or the records won't sell," 17-year-old Dah Dah explained to us in August. "However, I believe that New York is the heart of the music and at this point we have a chance to bring life back to music."
