Ahead of the release of Bon Iver's new album, 22, A Million, Justin Vernon and his band showed up in Berlin to play a surprise show. Ahead of their non-profit live collaboration with The National and more, which is only a few days away, Bon Iver played a secret show at Berlin's Michelberger Hotel. With the highly anticipated album out tomorrow (September 30), it seems as if Vernon couldn't go without one more surprise before its imminent release.
Thankfully people were around to document the performance, and from the brief snippets appearing on social media it looks and sounds like it was a magical experience. But that's not all, though, as it appears that there will be events around the world wherein newspapers filled with art related to the album will be given out for free. With murals for the album in Melbourne, Berlin, Copenhagen, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Brooklyn, Minneapolis, Mexico City, and Los Angeles, fans all over will be able to get their hands on the limited edition newspaper.
The original mural site in Vernon's hometown of Eau Claire, WI had fans flocking to the scene to get their hands on the newspaper and hear the album early, with a number of fans showing what the scene looked like via Reddit and Instagram.
