Bobby Shmurda has been in jail since late 2014, with his initial charge of conspiracy to commit murder alongside a number of weapon and drug charges putting him behind bars. The ongoing situation has been messy to say the least, with him being denied bail a number of times. Now TMZ is reporting that he has pled guilty in the murder conspiracy case. The other charges were dropped, and Shmurda will be getting seven years in prison followed by five years probation.

The now 22-year-old rapper has pled guilty to conspiracy to possess weapons and possession of a weapon. Reportedly, Shmurda's lawyer told him to take the deal because "they'd never get a sympathetic jury and they were facing life in prison." There are no further details regarding the situation right now, but as with all developing stories, we'll continue to update as more details surface.

Two members of Shmurda's GS9 crew were given long prison sentences for their involvement of the murder of 19-year-old Brian Antione, who was allegedly a member of a rival gang in Brownsville of Brooklyn. Shmurda's arrest raised many questions when it happened in 2014, and many have yet to be answered. Last year, Martin Shkreli claimed he was planning to bail out Shmurda, but nothing came of that.
