Thus far, 2016 has been a banner year for reclusive musicians. Frank Ocean dropped two albums, Childish Gambino is hosting a live album event in the desert this weekend, and now Sampha is playing new music on BBC Radio 1.

The song is called "Blood On Me," and it's incredible. It premiered where great music often does, on Annie Mac's weekly radio show. It opens with Sampha's hiccuped harmonies before giving way to a cowbell beat and some heavy piano chords. Sampha's raw emotion bleeds through the vocals as ever—he hasn't missed a step since his last official release, and this (along with "Timmy's Prayer") is an excellent sign that Sampha's next release, his debut album Process, will be another leap forward.
