M.I.A. will be releasing her upcoming album, A.I.M., next month on September 9 via Interscope, and it's shaping up to be one of her best yet judging from the material she's shared from it so far. After announcing that her and Diplo had put their past beef aside to record their first song together in over five years, M.I.A. has shared said song, except she hasn't shared the Diplo-produced version of the track she promised.

Instead of releasing what we can only assume is the Diplo original, M.I.A. has shared the Blaqstarr remix of "Bird Song," which follows the release of "Go Off," which also featured production from Blaqstarr. The Diplo version of the track is still forthcoming reports Pitchfork, but it's not entirely clear when and where we'll hear that. But in the meantime while we wait for Diplo and M.I.A. to reunite musically, this Blaqstarr remix more than does the job.

With its minimal lyrics and huge production, "Bird Song" shows off another side of the always inventive M.I.A., opting for a different approach than previous single "Borders." The upcoming A.I.M. is also set to include a collaboration with former One Direction member Zayn Malik. Listen to Blaqstarr's remix of "Bird Song" below.
