Known for crafting catchy electronic-based music that manages to mesh joyous bubblegum pop with a punk grit, Lowell returned earlier this summer with a darker tone on “High Enough.” It retained a danceable groove, but the Canadian artist was clearly exploring a heavier direction than we’d heard throughout most of her 2014 debut LP, We Loved Her Dearly.
