Connecticut-based rapper Lonny X released a very promising project earlier this year titled High Fashion, showcasing what he's capable of as a rapper. Improving release by release, the growth he's shown in the last year has more than made it worth keeping an eye on him. Before releasing his next full-length project, he's sharing the brief Not Just Anybody EP, and the resulting effort is his best release so far.
Atop varying styles of production, Lonny delivers his charmingly scruffy rap with hypnotic flows and simplistic but catchy hooks. On the title track, his lo-fi aesthetic shines through, complimenting his style perfectly. There's something very sincere about his output, and Not Just Anybody is further proof of that. He's certainly capable of diversity, which is why you never really know what to expect from him.
