Aziz Ansari Compares Donald Trump to Meek Mill

Putting politics in terms we understand, Aziz Ansari referenced the Drake vs. Meek Mill beef on 'The Tonight Show'.

Aziz Ansari stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, and during his interview the subject of politics came up after Fallon brought up Aziz’s previous portrayal of former Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal, who ran a brief bid for Republican nomination last year. “He was trying to run for president and it didn’t work out, and now the orange faced monster is running,” he says, referencing Republican Party presidential nominee Donald Trump.

Comparing the 2016 presidential elections to wrestling, Aziz says, “It’s a very riveting election, it’s like watching wrestling.” He continues, “There’s like, feuds and stuff… Right now it’ [Trump] and the Khan family. My god they are destroying him, the Khan family is the Drake to Donald Trump’s Meek Mill.” For those unaware, Donald Trump has continued to be hostile to the parents of Muslim American soldier Humayun Khan, who was slain in Iraq.

After criticizing Trump, Khan’s father was on the receiving end of Trump’s hatred, with Trump saying that he’d made a lot of sacrifices, too. Aziz Ansari said of the back and forth, “The guy makes a speech like, ‘Have you read the constitution? Let me give you a copy!’ And then Trump’s like, ‘Why doesn’t your wife say anything?’ And the guy says, ‘You have a black soul,’ which is the coldest shit I’ve ever heard. I heard that was gonna be a line in Tupac’s ‘Hit ‘Em Up’ and he was like, ‘Nah it’s too mean we can’t go there.'”
