Last night, Travis Scott headlined a show in Coney Island, New York, and during the performance he announced the release date of his upcoming album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight. Fan-shot footage shows Travis saying the date August 5 before performing summer smash “Pick Up The Phone,” and then specifically saying it’s the release date after the song has finished.

While we hope the album does drop next week on Friday, it might still get pushed back. At a June 28 show, Scott said that the album would be out in a week, a deadline which was subsequently missed. Since then, Scott has signed some sort of partnership deal with Apple, presumably linked to his new album, and explained that the release delay was caused by him shooting an accompanying film. We also learned that Scott has been working with Kamaiyah, and we can’t wait to hear what the two cooked up.

Watch footage from Travis Scott’s Coney Island show, where he also performed a new song which is being called both “Shit To Lose” and “Steady With The Crew,” below. Read why “Pick Up The Phone” is one of our favorite songs of the year here.
