Speaking to Nylon, New England-based artist Nok From The Future said that the new music he’s making “feels like a new genre.” It’s a bold claim, but Nok might actually be onto something. “I cannot describe it in words yet,” he adds. “It just hits in the right places at the right times. We are looking at a culture from the outside rather than within.”
Nok’s outsider status has always been evident in his forward-thinking, genre-bending music, but on the playful “Wocky Wocky,” it’s starting to take on a more clear shape. The whimsical, striking video (made by Opus Eternum and Henry Kerstgens) helps communicate the vision.
Nok’s upcoming album is in the works, and it will feature Dylan Brady and Kevin Abstract.
